45 Qingdao enterprises “seek new development” overseas

　　By Ma Zhengtuo (Peninsula City News), April 27 In order to further promote Qingdao engineering construction enterprises to participate in construction of “the Belt and Road” (the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road), the Qingdao International Engineering Development Alliance sponsored and established by several engineering enterprises such as CNQC etc. under the guidance of Qingdao Municipal Commission of Urban-Rural Development was officially founded in the morning on April 27 in Qingdao. It is reported that the Alliance now has 45 member companies and has established 15 overseas branches to exploit international engineering markets jointly and endeavor to drive 3 enterprises in one year, 10 in 3 years to stride into new markets and new business areas.

　　Qingdao International Engineering Development Alliance is a non-profit organization initiated and established by some Qingdao famous engineering construction enterprises under the guidance of Qingdao Municipal Commission of Urban-Rural Development. Purposes of this Alliance is to further drive Qingdao engineering construction enterprises to participate in the construction of “the Belt and Road”, to achieve resource sharing, joint development and mutual benefit and win-win for Qingdao enterprises and to raise the level of overall “go out” exploiting markets and undertaking projects for Qingdao construction industry.

　　Currently in 54 Qingdao enterprises adopting the “go out” policy, more than 40 engineering construction enterprises have obtained the operating qualification for contacting projects in foreign countries. According to statistics, the turnover obtained from contracting projects in foreign countries by Qingdao enterprises in 2015 ranked No. 2 among the sub-provincial cities all over the country, which was next only to Shenzhen. Meanwhile, Qingdao engineering construction enterprises have complete classifications of specialty covering the whole course of engineering construction, including exploration, design, supervision, construction and cost consultation etc. However, proportion of the turnover of contracting projects in foreign countries is relatively low and there is still great potential in foreign market development.

　　Centering on the development strategy of “the Belt and Road”, the Alliance will promote Qingdao enterprises to exploit international engineering markets and endeavor to drive 3 enterprises in one year and 10 in three years to march into new markets or new business areas; endeavor to absorb 80 member enterprises in 3 years and to build an international development alliance with complete mechanism, reasonable structure, scientific democracy and normative services and raise international contracting level of Qingdao engineering construction comprehensively.
