Qingjian Ranked the 95th Place among ENR Top 250 International Contractors

Qingjian Surpassed Shanghai Construction Group and Became the Front Runner in Traditional House Building and Infrastructure 

 

   Recently, McGraw-Hill Construction released 2013 ENR (Engineering News-Record) international contractors ranking. For overseas turnover of USD 880 million, Qingjian ascended to the 95th place from the 104th of last year. It is the first time that Qingjian has ranked among Top 100 contractors, which has ranked upward for 5 consecutive years and ranked the 21st place among the Chinese contractors.

 

   Among Top 20 enterprises, there were 17 central enterprises and another 3 ones were the construction companies in the field of electric power. In traditional house building and infrastructure, Qingjian surpassed Shanghai Construction Group and became the front runner of local enterprises. This year, Qingjian expanded the international business thanks to the excellent performance in Southeast Asian market and African market, so the rank of Qingjian Group in ENR list will continue to ascend.

 

   This year, ENR resumed the quantity of world’s largest international contractors to 250 from 225. Because of market shrinking, ENR reduced that quantity to 225 in 1992; a total of 55 Chinese enterprises appeared on the ENR list. Compared with the previous list, the ranks of 26 enterprises ascended, the rank of one enterprise kept unchanged, the ranks of 18 enterprises descended, and another 10 enterprises ranked on the list for the first time or returned to the list. China Communications Construction Co., Ltd. ranked the first among the Chinese contractors for six consecutive years; Yunnan Construction Engineering Group was the quickest in rank ascending, which ranked the 208th place ascending by 39 places compared with last year.

 

 

   Top 250 international contractors totally completed the overseas turnover of USD 511.05 billion. Seen from the regional markets, overseas market performance mainly came from the Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Middle East, accounting for 27.2%, 20% and 17.9% respectively, ranking in line with that of previous year. Seen from the professional fields, the turnovers in the fields of transportation (USD 130.71 billion), petrochemical (USD 119.773 billion) and house building (USD 103.26 billion) ranked the first three places. The turnover (USD 42.116 billion) in the industrial field received the highest increase, with a year-on-year increase of 1.7%.
